Juneteenth parade photos added to gallery
Photos from Saturday morning's 16th annual Juneteenth Celebration parade from the Anderson County Courthouse to Calhoun Park have been added to the Herald-Press Photo Gallery.
The celebration is sponsored locally by the Palestine Branch of the Negro Historical Preservation Society. Saturday morning's events included speakers on the courthouse steps and a re-enactment of soldiers escorting the first black voters to the polls, as well as the parade to Calhoun Park.
