Photography program slated
Selecting photographic equipment — from cameras, to flash equipment, to lens, to camera bags — is the topic of the next session of “You Can Take Great Photographs,” an eight-month series of programs about taking photographs at the Palestine Public Library.
You don’t have to be a professional with expensive equipment to take great photographs. Beautiful photographs are possible with the least expensive equipment and some understanding of the basic principles—and then applying those principles.
Experienced photographers Timothy Triplett, George Anderson and Willi Buhl are the presenters.
The topics cover all you need to know to take great photographs: Great Photographs — Techniques You Can Use; Special Events — Weddings, Reunions, and Family Gatherings; Landscape and Travel — Bringing the Beauty Home; Selecting Equipment—Cameras and Lenses and stuff…Oh, My!; Special Effects—Striking Images from Normal Subjects; Sports and Action—Think Fast!; Portraiture — Adding the Dimension of Time.
Bring examples of some of your photographic “challenges” and triumphs with you to share with the group in a learning environment.
An outgrowth of this series is the Photographic Palestine project: Connecting with our Past...to find our Future. Learn more about this project at Thursday’s program and by visiting the Web site www.photographic palestine.com.
