PALESTINE —
The Palestine Police Department is continuing the investigation into a minor traffic accident Monday morning that sent a Palestine woman to a local hospital with seemingly minor injuries.
According to PPD Sgt. James Muniz, at about 8 a.m. Monday, a red Dodge Durango was traveling north in the 1600 block of South Loop 256 in front of Palestine High School.
“The Dodge approached the traffic light in front of the campus but failed to stop at said red light,” Muniz said.
At the same time, the female driver in a Silver Chevy truck was leaving PHS and attempting to make a left turn onto Loop 256, when the driver of the Dodge failed to stop and crashed into the driver’s side of the Chevy.
“The driver of the Chevy truck was transported to the Palestine Regional Medical Center for treatment,” Muniz said. “It is believed that the injuries were non-life threatening.”
The driver of the Dodge did not report any injuries and the person could be cited for the red light violation, Muniz reported.
