PALESTINE —
A male and female both remained in the Anderson County Jail Tuesday after being arrested on drug charges and more during a suspicious vehicle call on Monday.
At about 1:40 a.m. on Monday, Anderson County Sheriff Deputy Russell Wesson received a call of a suspicious vehicle located in the 3000 block of Anderson County Road 370.
“The deputy found the vehicle and made the stop,” Sheriff Greg Taylor said. “In the car were a female passenger and male driver who did not have a driver’s license.”
According to the sheriff, upon closer search, Wesson found a set of scales and other indications that the subjects were involved in the distribution of narcotics, including two grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of powder cocaine.
ACSO officers arrested Jose Pablo Aguilar, 34, on multiple charges, including: manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance-PG1, 1-4 grams — $5,000 bond; prohibited substance in a correctional facility (for small amount of cocaine found in his wallet during search) — $35,000 bond; fraudulent use of identifying information — $10,000 bond; possession of a controlled substance-PG3 — $15,000 bond; and a $207 fine for no driver’s license.
The passenger, Jessica Denice Morales, was charged with possession of a controlled substance-PG1, 1-4 grams, and prohibited substance in a correctional facility (for cocaine found in purse), with a $10,000 bond set by JP Carl Davis.
Morales also was found to have some outstanding no-bond warrants out of Smith County, Taylor said.
