McClendon-Smith wedding
Christina Lynn McClendon and Alex Taylor Smith, both of Palestine, were married July 17 at the Dreams Resort-Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Vows were read before an archway decorated with palm leaves and tropical greenery on the beach. The ceremony took place at sunset.
Parents of the bride are Paul and Cindy McClendon of Palestine. Grandparents are Margie Vickery and the late Johnny Vickery of Palestine and Anna McClendon and the late Bradford McClendon of Seguin.
Parents of the groom are Gary and Betsy Smith of Palestine. Grandparents were the late George and Cleo Watts of Tennessee Colony and the late Rhodes and Sue Smith of Elkhart.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Galina Chiffon Gown with pleated bust and empire waist. She carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies and other tropical flowers. The bride also wore a stargazer lily in her hair.
The bride carried an antique handkerchief given to her by her grandmother “Gaggie” of Seguin.
Maid of honor was Katherine Peery of Austin. Matron of honor was Marcie Tunstall of Frankston. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Whitfield and Breanne Alder of Palestine, both sisters of the groom; Allison Reynolds of The Woodlands; Crystal Jasper, Charlie Yaunk and Angela Howell all of Palestine.
Best man was Cannon Tunstall of Frankston. Groomsmen were Jason Simms of San Antonio; Hunter Bentley of Houston; Newell Bentley of Austin; Nathan Royall of Tyler; Russell McClendon, brother of the bride, Cody Tunstall and Jonathan Kelly all of Palestine.
A reception was held at Shelton Hall on Aug. 8. Music was provided by Buddy Jackson and the cupcakes were designed by the Cupcake Divas.
The bride and groom will reside in Palestine. The groom is employed with Ben E. Keith Company of Palestine. The bride is employed with Michael Gorby, MD and Associates and is pursuing a nursing degree.
