Community Chorus and Orchestra seeks new members
The Anderson County Community Chorus and Orchestra is opening its membership again this fall to community members with singing and instrumental experience and the desire to participate in the annual Christmas Concert.
The Christmas Concert will be performed at the Palestine Civic Center at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13. The Anderson County Community Chorus and Orchestra have been presenting great choral music for the past five years. The group continues to grow in quality and artistry with every performance. The current group of musicians includes members that represent all walks of life. Age is no restriction, as our musicians range from high school students through senior citizens. The chorus is nonauditioned and interested singers with a strong desire to learn and perform challenging choral music are encouraged to attend the first rehearsal. The goal is to enjoy the experience of promoting excellent music to our community and beyond.
Rehearsals begin Aug. 17. All rehearsals will be conducted at Grace United Methodist Church, 1918 E. Murchison on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m.
If you are interested in joining the Anderson County Community Chorus and Orchestra, please contact Rhonda Herrington, founder and director of ACCC at 903-723-6143 or 903-724-8515 or rhonda.herrington@yahoo.com
In its sixth season, the ACCC will continue to present notable and inspired performances of choral repertoire. This Christmas Season will be no different featuring Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus” and “For Unto Us a Child Is Born.” The concert will also include a beautiful accapella song “Masters in This Hall” a traditional French Christmas Carol written by William Morris and many other traditional carols.
“We welcome your participation in this important arts endeavor that provides lasting values to our community,” Herrington said.
The ACCC is a non-profit organization which depends solely on choir member fees and donations. Every performance we do is free to the public. It is our gift to the community. If you would like to support The Anderson County Community Chorus and Orchestra please mail your donation to The Anderson County Community Chorus and Orchestra, 1918 E.
