While doing a little Christmas shopping at TSC during the holidays, something caught my attention in the parking lot. As I was leaving, I notice what appeared to be an older couple, (older then me at 55), get out of their car and start walking towards the store. They were walking pretty close to each other, and were heading my way. They didn’t walk far, when the man reached over and took his wife’s hand. It immediately hit me, what a deal. What a show of affection. As they walked hand in hand, I realized that I knew this couple. After exchanging handshakes and hugs, and visiting for a while, I could not quit thinking about Jerry taking Marilyn’s hand, and the impression it had made on me. What an example for all of us. The Bible tells us to enlarge our territory, and I would like to say thank you for making my day a good one. The two of you have not only been examples to your family, but also to friends and strangers alike. To Jerry and Marilyn Woody of Elkhart, Texas, thank you, keep up the good work, and continue to enlarge your territory.

Candidate explains decision to supporters, city voters
EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a letter submitted to the Herald-Press by Dan Bochsler:
To be “fit for its future,” a successful city embraces and moves forward with changes. Recently, several positive votes for change occurred in Palestine. Like in life, nothing ever stops changing, and things do “happen for a reason.” - Palestine lucky to have Dr. Puvvada
- Thanks to all who worked to pass bond
- Support Elkhart ISD bond
- Presley works for betterment of city
