Palestine Police Beat for Oct. 14-18
The following items were taken from reports provided by the Palestine Police Department.
Oct. 14
• 7 a.m. — Theft, 2900 block of S. Loop 256. PRMC reported that approximately $1,639 worth of medication was stolen from the hospital during the night of October 13.
• 6:25 p.m. — Robbery, 2200 block of S. Loop 256. Subject was arrested for robbery at Wal-Mart. Suspect assisted in the robbery and fled.
Oct. 15
• 7:42 p.m. — Public Intoxication, 700 block of Mallard St. Subject was arrested for public intoxication.
• 8:10 p.m. — Aggravated robbery, 1000 block of W. Palestine Ave. Three black males one of whom was armed with a handgun, committed aggravated robbery taking in excess of $600 from store clerk at Pic-N-Go.
• 9:36 p.m. — Aggravated robbery, 400 block of Fort St. Two subjects were arrested for aggravated robbery for exhibiting a weapon to the victim and stealing approximately $20 from the victim.
• 10 p.m. — Burglary of a habitation, 2000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Unknown person entered residence by key, through front door, and removed a HP laptop computer with charger attached.
Oct. 16
• 11 a.m. — Theft, 100 block of Kickapoo St. Complainant reported theft of money at apartment complex.
• Midnight — Resisting arrest search or transport/possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, 100 block of Old Brushy Creek Rd. The subject was found in possession of a Xanax pill and resisted arrest in the process of trying to detain him.
• 7:28 p.m. — Theft, 2200 block of S. Loop 256. Subject was arrested for theft.
• 8:55 p.m. — Deadly conduct, 200 block of W. Reagan St. Complainant reported deadly conduct.
Oct. 17
• 12:48 a.m. — Evading arrest with a vehicle/possessin of marijuana, 800 block of Chancellor St. Arrested subject for evading arrest/detention and possession marijuana.
• 4:16 p.m. — Theft, 500 block of Lipsey Ave. Complainant reported that his lawn mower was stolen.
• 8 p.m. — Burglary of a habitation, 1300 block of Cummins St. Complainant reported a burglary of a habitation
• 9:37 p.m. — Burglary of a vehicle, 1100 block of E. Palestine Ave. Complainant reported that her purse, which contained several valuable items, was stolen from her vehicle while parked at the Quality Inn & Suites (1101 E. Palestine Avenue).
Oct. 18
• Midnight — Public intoxication, 1900 block of Crockett Rd. Subjects were observed in vehicle parked in public parking lot of a convenience store; both intoxicated to point of being danger to self or others; both arrested and transported to ACSO
• 1 p.m. — Criminal mischief, 1000 block of Sugar Ln. Complainant reported Criminal Mischief under $20,000.
• 2:44 p.m. — Criminal mischief, 900 block of Royall St. Complainants reported that there tires were cut.
• 4:15 p.m. — Theft, 2000 block of Crockett Rd. Subject was arrested for theft.
• Midnight — Theft, 300 block of Chestnut St. The complainant said an unknown suspect(s) stole his solar lamps valued at over $100.
• Midnight — Theft, 1000 block of E. Palestine Ave. Complainant reported a tractor trailer was stolen from the Shep’s Barbecue parking lot.

Four arrested in connection with pipe theft
Four Anderson County residents have been arrested in connection with the theft of several thousand pounds of scrap metal pipe earlier this month.

Traffic stop ends in arrest of 2 Houston Co. men
Two Houston County men were arrested early Sunday morning following a traffic stop inside the Palestine city limits, with one charged with possessing the drug commonly referred to as PCP.

Man arrested after hiding in attic
With an assist from a local volunteer fire department, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office was able to arrest a 39-year-old Palestine man on a warrant last week.

Anderson County sheriff’s authorities arrested three people on drug charges Friday afternoon at a local hotel, seizing more than $500 cash from one of the suspects.

A 29-year-old Palestine man was arrested Tuesday after authorities say he sold a shotgun to a local pawn shop which was stolen during a 2001 Gregg County burglary.
