Cold weather forecast for Texas on Tuesday
A cold snap was in the forecast for parts of Texas on Tuesday.
In the Panhandle, wind chill values could make temperatures feel around 30 and 40 degrees before warming up to a high near 70,according to the National Weather Service. Lows could dip to the lower 40s while gusting winds could reach 35 mph.
Forecasters issued a freeze warning through 10 a.m. in western Texas. Cold dry air, decreased winds and a cold front could make temperatures fall to around 25 around Marfa. Fog was possible in the morning around Midland and Odessa, where highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s were expected.
In northern Texas, skies were expected to start out cloudy then gradually become sunny. Highs near 70 were forecast for the Dallas-Fort Worth area with overnight lows in the 50s.
Sunny skies were forecast in central Texas with highs in the 70s and lows near 50 around Austin and San Antonio.
Cloudy skies could gradually turn sunny along the Gulf Coast. Highs near 70 were possible around Houston with overnight lows in the mid-50s.
