In a battle of 2-1 teams, the Cayuga Wildcats showed why they have one of the area’s most explosive offenses, racking up more than 500 total yards in a rout of the Overton Mustangs.
Sophomore quarterback Chandler Rigdon continued on his torrid pace to start 2012, accounting for five touchdowns and 305 total yards.
Donte Jackson rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns, while Wesley Rigdon led all receivers with four receptions for 90 yards.
Pat Boxie scored two touchdowns as the Wildcat offense totaled 515 yards, most of which came in the first three quarters.
Cayuga (3-1) will travel to Carlisle next Friday to take on the state-ranked Indians (4-0), who defeated Wolfe City 38-0 Friday.
Alto 15, Frankston 7
The Alto Yellowjackets got two touchdown passes, one in the second quarter and one in the fourth, and held off a Frankston rally for a victory Friday to move to 3-1 on the season.
The loss drops Frankston to 1-3.
Frankston cut the lead to 15-7 late in the fourth quarter, when Ozzie Buckner found Cory Warren for a 25-yard touchdown pass, but the Indians wouldn’t get any closer.
