Members of Sea Scouts Ship 1, pictured here with the Rev. Zacharias Kunnakkathuthara of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, delivered groceries to the St. Vincent De Paul food pantry Friday. The pantry plans to feed 100 families during the Thanksgiving holidays. Every year the Boy Scouts of America and Brookshire’s food stores partner to hold Scouting for Food, a program in which Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers and Sea Scouts collect food to benefit local food pantries. Sea Scouting is a coed teen program of the Boy Scouts of America. Ship 1 is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Palestine and the First United Methodist Church of Palestine. Members of the Ship are Monica Attaway, Briana Minter, Helen Rameriz, Macy Stone, Ashley Walden, Piper Elrod, Stevie Ybarra, Summer Hagan and Jesi Dickey. They collected 52 bags of groceries.
