PALESTINE — Mr. and Mrs. Larry Opell will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 24. The couple were married Feb. 24, 1962 in Washington, Ind. by the Rev. Hawkins. The couple have three daughters: Beth and Jim Boger and Lora and Richard Lomax of Palestine and Shirley Wood of Whitehouse. They also have 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. The couple was given a surprise anniversary party on Feb. 11 at Broyles Chapel Baptist Church, where they also renewed their wedding vows.
